Streaming photos

Hi, I'm new to Serviio and fist time on this forum.
It worked after install on my PC (W10) at first go, can browse images, stream mp4s on Sony Bravia but have spent two days searching
for a “How to” stream jpegs, maybe at random and with different transitions if available.
VLC will not do it.
Any advice, recommendation or links I may have missed.
Thanks, Steve S

Re: Streaming photos

jpegs are images. You can't "stream" them. Just view them as photos.

Re: Streaming photos

Thanks jhb50,
My sis in law have an apple with tera + iTune + iPhoto and streams her picks from folders to a smart TV like a screen saver.
She didn't install it so thats all she could tell me.
She just adds folder with picks to it.
That's what I was trying to emulate.

Re: Streaming photos

That is called a slideshow. It is a function of the renderer (TV or MediaBrowser). In Serviio, under Images, Select the folder etc with the images you want to play and then use the renderer menu to select "slideshow" and they will play consecutively.

Re: Streaming photos

Found it, Thanks jhb50,
Have been looking for the slideshow everywhere on the serviio console before turning to this forum.
Didn't think about the TV's menu/option.

What my sis-in-law have is quite different from a simple slideshow.
The picks fly onto the screen at random with random transitions, sometimes two, three or four picks at the same time, resized to fit the screen.

The only constant is the display time.
It will be one of the aps on her Apple doing it.
For my wife the slideshow will do, thanks again, Steve S

Re: Streaming photos

What is your purpose Streaming photos? Jpeg is an image showing extension. It is processed to sync your photo of iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch and you can upload.
