Cannot connect to the server, it doesn't seem to be running.

I have been getting this more and more, running Ver 1.10.1 on Windows 7. I can usually fix it with a random combination of starting or stopping the service ad administrator, or installing the software again, but there is clearly a bigger issue here, any help most welcome.

I have had a further look and looked at the servioo service is task manager,

The service is stopped.
If I try and start it in task manager I can't as access is denied
If I try and start it from the desk top icon as admin, it starts very briefly gets a PID then stops again. The same happens if I go into the services in detail in task manager.

I have Java 8 update 131 if that is relevant ?

Most likely a Windows issue, but I can't guess what. I ran Serviio on a Windows 7 PC without issue, although I just updated that PC to Windows 10 last week. The first place to look at are the firewall settings, as Microsoft has been known to reset them to default during a Windows update.

Thanks, I looked at firewall settings (a first for me), and neither the consul or the service were there, so I added them, but no joy.

Odd, I installed another DLNA server to use for now (Plex), and not only does that load, but since I have installed it Serviio now loads as well. Assuming it is not a coincidence, I can only assume that some windows problem as been resolved, by the other installation, time will tell.
