Hi all

I have a problem with kodi (18.1) and a remote UPNP server (Serviio on a synology NAS)

I have successfully added the source and i can see my video but, after a reboot, if i try to open the source i receive this error: "unable to connect to the server".

If i go in system-->settings-->services-->UPnP/DLNA and disable and enable "Share my livraries" then i can accesso to the remote DLNA server.

This is the first debug log, when i get the error:

  Code:

Its a question probably to Kodi forum. Use serviio in nas. I have them both actually and they both are working. I would recommend serviio in this situation. Less problems. Kodi is not use serviio server at all. Kodi just reading files from shared folders. There own tricks how to setup it correctly in nas.

Are you using Kodi as your player connected to a display, or is it acting as a server, and you are connecting to Serviio as a media source? I use Kodi and MrMC (a Kodi fork) on my Shield as a player for accessing Serviio, and have no issues.

My only gripe with Kodi and its various forks is that it ignores the file sort that Serviio offers and instead sorts the media on its own selection. That's fine for the Titles, Movies and Folders presentations, but it's terrible for Last Added and Playlists.
