Oculus Quest/SkyBox does not display external subtitles

I'm running Serviio PRO 1.10.1 on Mac OS X Mojave and accessing from 4 Samsung TVs (J and M series profiles) and all subtitles, internals and externals, are displayed normally.

I purchased an Oculus Quest with DLNA SkyBox client, which was registered with the generic profile on Serviio.

In this device, which supports external subtitles in .srt files, subtitles are not displayed, they are only shown when they are embedded in the movie file.

My question is: which DLNA client profile should I use so that external file subtitles (.srt) are displayed correctly?

Tks for your help.

Re: Oculus Quest/SkyBox does not display external subtitles

It's possible they are not supported via DLNA on the client - subtitles are not a part of the standard, so everyone does them differently.

You could try one of the Viera profiles or a Samsung profile. If they don't work you're out of luck.

You could enable hardsubs, see https://serviio.org/index.php?option=co ... icle&id=33.

I tried several profiles available, without success.

Then I checked the 'Burned-in' option and the subtitles are now displayed.

Problem solved! :P  :D Thanks for your help.
