Serviio Service Crashes after Win 10 Build 1903 Update

Hi, I'm hoping that someone can help. I am running Win 10 Home, and after upgrading to Build 1903, the Serviio Service keeps crashing. If I manually start it, it will run for 1-2 minutes, then crash again. I was running Serviio v1.7, and upgraded to v2.0 after this started. I have also updated my Java installation.

Looking through the logs (full log attached), it seems the last entries before the last few the service crashes is:

2019-11-03 17:16:19,785 DEBUG [RequestExecutor] Sending HTTP request to 10.0.0.231:9000
2019-11-03 17:16:19,837 DEBUG [EventDispatcher] Event notification sent and received successfully

My media library is 2 folders (with some sub folders) on the local "D" drive, with about 1,300 files in about 993 GB.

Please suggest what I can try to stop the Serviio Service from crashing.

Thanks.

Well, I'm running build 1903 without an issue, so it appears it's not something specific to the build. Your log didn't attach, so we can't look for anything there. Those two lines you posted appear to be normal traffic. Have to see what the complete log shows.

There's nothing unusual in that log. But did you notice that it only covers about 30 seconds? It starts at 07:52:16, and the last line is 07:52:46. Since you said Serviio would run for a couple of minutes before crashing, it's too short to show any potential issue causing a crash. But everything I see in this log looks normal.

Re: Serviio Service Crashes after Win 10 Build 1903 Update

My Serviio server worked just fine after the initial upgrade to 1903, but the upgrade to build 1909 has knocked it out completely. The server runs, everything looks normal on the server, but the TV set does not see it anymore. It's a pity really because I loved the software. Any advice?

When did you get 1909? I was still on 1903 a few days ago and if it updated overnight Serviio is still working, last I knew. And believe me, the family would make it known if it wasn't working. :D

I got 1909 about 10 - 12 days ago, I think there were a couple of updates back to back, but I was away and not using Serviio, but I noticed it had rebooted over 2 nights when I remoted in. I just captured another log, and I timed it by clicking refresh every 10 seconds so I'd see when it stopped, which was between 40 - 50 seconds running, which this log shows.

I the logs look normal, where else could I look to see why the service keeps stopping?

Re: Serviio Service Crashes after Win 10 Build 1903 Update

The point is that log is only a tiny snippet. This one is again about 45 seconds worth of data. Yeah, it shows nothing amiss, and certainly does not show any sort of crash or shutdown.

I have no idea where else you could look. Windows of course has its own logs, but it's unlikely (but not impossible) those logs would show anything. If you haven't tried it yet, you could completely uninstall Serviio, reboot, make sure the Serviio install folder is completely gone, then install it again. Takes a little time of course, but I don't know what else to suggest.

Re: Serviio Service Crashes after Win 10 Build 1903 Update

I put Windows 10 build 1909 update on my test server yesterday. It's been running for 24 hours since then, and no Serviio issues. Just tried playing something and had no problem.
