Browsing OK but no streaming on Samsung TV

Hello,

I used to use Minidlna server on my Raspberry PI for sharing videos in the house. I'm trying to switch to serviio, as I was missing some features.

The server works flawless when I use my pc as client (both VLC nd WMP).
But from my Samsung TV (QE49Q64RATXZT) I can browse folders and categories without problems but when I try to launch a movie the stream can not be played. It stucks on loading wheel.
Transcoding is off and the same file can be played from minidlna. So I think it's not file related. I tried to change several profiles (but with transcoding set to off I do not know if that could help) but no one worked.

Below you can find my log.

Thank you very much for your help

Hi, try to use the latest Samsung profile - or disable transcoding altogether.

Thank you for the suggestion, but as I wrote transcoding is off and I've already tried all the Samsung profiles. The supposed stream should be the same for minidlna and serviio (the untouched media file), but it's not.

Have you solved your problem?

No, still stuck on loading from the Samsung TV. I'm still using minidlna for that.

Samsung in general has miserable DLNA support. I have three different Samsung sets, and all three have something external connected for streaming. On my two 4K sets I have an Nvidia Shield, and the smaller set has an old Sony SMP-N200 that's still kicking. I also have a couple of Vizio sets that I feel the same way about. I use a Roku on one, while the others are mainly used as PC monitors, so I don't stream to them anyway.

Honestly, you'll be far happier using something other than the Samsung interface. Even on a 55" TV I have trouble seeing the cover image for my movies, and there's no metadata whatsoever available.

Sincerely I don't know. What I know is that minidlna as server works flawlessly, serviio does not. With the same file, not transcoded, same network and same TV. It's quite odd.
