Serviio not working in windows10

Hi everyone,

I switched from windows 7 to windows 10 a while ago and I can get serviio to work. I can browse my serviio library from my tv but when I try to play the files I get the error message that the file format is not recognized. When I try to stream the same files from my win 7 device there is no issue at all.

Also the normal "play to device" option in win 10 doesn't work. So my guess it's a windows 10 setting or service I need to change. The pc is part of my homegroup and media streaming is enabled ofc.

Can anyone help me?

thx in advance

OS Win 10 Pro (fully updated)

Nothing to do with Windows 10. I have it running on four different computers and there's no issue with any of them. Sounds to me that the wrong profile is assigned to your TV in the Serviio console. Check that out and perhaps experiment with a different profile. You don't say what TV brand/model you have, so can't offer anything more specific.

It's a 10year old philips TV, but it's working fine on the same TV and my win 7 computer

Compare the profile assigned to the TV in the Serviio console on your Win 7 and Win 10 computers. I'm guessing the Win 10 box is using a different profile. There's no functional difference with Serviio on any Windows install, regardless of Win version.

I agree with atc probably a profile issue. My server was windows 7 and I did upgrade install to windows 10 and nothing changed with serviio was seamless. Are you using static ip?
