DLNA Apps & User Access

Looking to upgrade to Serviio v2. Just need to know if v2 Users feature supports DLNA apps. If so, which apps support this.
I have Apple TVs and use Infuse right now.
Other than user access, I have no other reason to upgrade, so user access in apps is the deal breaker for upgrading.
Thanks

Not certain what you mean. Serviio V2 is still fully DLNA compliant, same as all previous versions. I have no problem with any of my players. On the Shield, I can use Kodi, MrMC, and VLC without issue. I have an older version of Infuse (4) on my iOS devices, and it still works. I just tried it to be sure. I'm sure it will work with more recent versions as well.

https://serviio.org/news/10-uncategoris ... tion-rulesSo there is no Username/Password going on?
Just multiple device restriction support?
So this type of User Access definitely won’t work remotely?
Please clarify for me
Thanks

DLNA doesn't support user access control. What Serviio does with user accounts is two-fold. First is MediaBrowser user access. This isn't via DLNA, which is why you can log in as a user. Via DLNA the user account can be assigned to a device, and then access to a specific shared folder can be controlled via that device and user name. For example, if you have kid friendly content, as well as more adult content, you place the media is two different folders and map a Serviio shared location to each folder. You can then restrict that folder by user name, and then assign that user name to a device in the Serviio console. Any user of that device will be restricted based on that user access. No login is necessary. But that also means that the particular device cannot see the restricted content, regardless of who's using the device.
MediaBrowser requires specific access to be granted to the desired Serviio folder locations for each user account, otherwise once you log in you won't see anything. But devices on your network can be left without a user access assignment. In that case, they can access everything.
So yes, user accounts do work remotely with MediaBrowser. And you can restrict access to specific Serviio library locations. For local DLNA devices, user account assignment isn't required, but can be used on a per device basis to control access to Serviio libraries.
