I am having an issue streaming music to the Roku Media Player.

I searched through the forum and didn't find this issue.

I am just getting started with serviio. I have two albums set up to test audio streaming. I can see the album art, but I try and play music I get the message: "No compatible videos find in: <title of album>".

I can't get any songs to play. Why is it expecting videos in the audio directory? I do have ffmpeg and dcraw installed, even though I don't think I need the latter package.

First, which Roku device do you have? There are six different profiles for Roku devices, and you need to manually assign one. By default it assigns a profile that allows the oldest players to work.

Next, as you've noticed inside RMP, you can select the type of media you want to play, as well as All. I usually just use All now, and don't have any issues with playback.

What format are your music media in? MP3, M4A, something else? To be honest, when I wrote those profiles I only tested them with those two formats. If you're using something different perhaps I can make some alterations.

I just tried RMP on my Ultra 4670. I selected All for the file format, then went into my music folders. Everything played fine. If I instead selected Video as the type, I get the error you describe. If you get that error again, hit the * button and see what it says for media type. My guess is it will say Video, instead of Audio or All. Just cycle the OK button to change it to All or audio.
