Share a folder, but exclude files from metadata

I have a subfolder that I want to share and navigate by folder view, but I don't want any of its videos to attach metadata that would make them appear as Movies or Series. Is it possible to do this?

If the sub-folder is within another another folder in the Serviio library, then no you can't exclude it from the metadata settings of the overarching folder. What I have done is moved the folder I didn't want with metadata outside any existing Serviio library folder and add the new location to the library with the "Retrieve descriptive metadata" box unchecked.

This is what my library looks like:
Library.GIF
Library.GIF (5.99 KiB) Viewed 4304 times

E:\Test Videos is my standalone location for media I don't want metadata retrieved. They're all just test clips that wouldn't have any metadata for anyway, so any Serviio attempt to match it with something invariably gets the wrong data attached. Sometimes hilariously wrong, but sometimes it gets something inappropriate as well. So better to not have anything. :D

That makes sense, but leads to me another problem in that I can't seem to make any changes to my Shared Folders. The Save button continues to spin, but never completes.

Edit: The UI seems to have problems Saving changes to shared folders with a large amount of content in them, at least in my setup. I ended up renaming my shared folders, then saving the changes in the UI, then renaming the folders back to their original names and forcing a refresh. That seems to be working.

Hopefully once all the scanning completes, I'll have my extra folders excluded from the metadata as you suggested.
