Hi - I installed Serviio a while ago, but except for a quick look at the features, I haven't really used it. Now things have changed and I'd like to have another loo, but of course my Pro evaluation has long since expired. Is there any way of getting Pro access again for a couple of days. If it doeas what I want I promise I'll buy it this time. And yes I know everyone probably says that.

If you uninstall and reinstall Serviio, you get the same 15 day trial period. I know it's a bit of a pain to have to reconfigure it again, but that's the simplest way. Installing a new version also starts a new trial period, but if you're already on 2.1 there is no newer version at this time.

Hi - Thanks, I tried that, but it reinstalled with the limit still expired. I thought I'd removed every trace of the original programme, but is there something else I need to remove before I do the re-install?

Strange, it's worked for me before, but I paid for the Pro license so long ago perhaps something has changed.
Serviio itself does not create any Registry entries in Windows that I can find. Windows does make a number of entries relative to creating and running the service and the info for uninstalling. If you uninstall the program, and ensure the C:\Program Files\Serviio folder is completely gone, then reboot the computer, there should be no trace of it. But if you're comfortable messing around with the Registry (and only if you're comfortable) you can search for any stray entries and remove them.

Hi again - Well I found some additional remnants in AppData and PrrogramData so with all those cleared and a a reboot I had high hopes. Sadly the reinstal still shows the trial expired. I've had a look at the registry and as you say there is no Serviio file there. A search though does turn up about 80 keys that reference Serviio. Deleting all of those would be a tad scary! I probably only need to kill one. So the question is: Can you or anyone else tell me which one it is??

I can't begin to guess. We'll have to see if the developer (Zip) sees this post and responds.

What about one of those programs that eliminate temp files like bleachbit? Or Ccleaner? I have a pay version too haven't tried reinstall. If you're still curious and can't get it to work try on a virtual machine or another computer.
