Problems with starting Serviio

When I click on the serviio icon there is a space for a tick next to "open at login". When I start up my iMac I often get a message saying "Unable to connect to server" and the "tick" has disappeared. I then replace the "tick" and restart my computer. Usually I only have to do this once or twice before I get logged on. Other applications which offer this facility work every time. Why is my computer having this problem?
