Hello,

I'm a newbie in using Serviio so may be my question can be stupid but I’m gonna go anyway. I bought the pro version of Serviio in order to get a kind of multimedia server on my home network (France Orange). What I'd like to do is to play movies from my gaming PC et watch them on another laptop. I thought it was possible but I'm not able to do anything.
I have watch many totorials on youtube, read so many articles but I'm still stuck on my configuration.
For information, I have added in the "distant section" the IPv4 address of my gaming Pc, forwarded the 23424 and 23524 ports but still get the 2 red cross. Does one of you will be kind to explain me, step by step, how to configure Serviio in order to do what I explained above...

Tank you very much.

Cheers,

Fab

Hello Fab.

If both computers are on the same network, there should be no need for opening any ports. Serviio self-configures the Windows firewall to allow access. Ports 23424 and 23524 are only for accessing MediaBrowser, which isn't the only way to watch your movies on another computer. VLC player is capable of playing from uPNP sources like Serviio. That might be the simplest way to watch your movies from the Serviio PC on another PC. I'm not sure where you are seeing red crosses, but it's likely meaningless when you're within your own network.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply I really appreciate. Regarding red crosses, I'm talking about the mark (green or red) that appears when you check the connectivity. Anyway, I'm gonna move forward as you explained and see what's happen.

Have a nice week-end,

Fab
