M3U8 & HLS support

Hi
Fully new to Serviio, I come from Plesk and Jellygin until I found this great piece of software :)
I have videos pre-encoded for HLS with segmented *.ts files and *.m3u8 and playlist.m3u8 manifest files.
These manifest files point to different *.ts files encoded with different resolutions.
What I’m looking is to add this video (by pointing to the playlist.m3u8 manifest file) as a part of my Movies Library.
In this way client playback will stream the movie from the pre-encoded files and will choose automatically the best resolution that fit depending on its characteristics.
I've read and done everything I found but the m3u8 playlist doesn't show up in the GUI.
Any idea why?

Re: M3U8 & HLS support

Playlists will not appear under the Title or Movies presentation. They only appear under the Playlists presentation.

That said, I'm uncertain if the m3u8 file format is recognized by Serviio as a playlist. I know .pls and .m3u playlist files work, as I use both types. You might try making a playlist that points to your .m3u8 file and see if that works.
