Getting trouble while starting Serviio

When I click on the serviio icon there is a space for a tick next to "open at login". When I start up my iMac I often get a message saying "Unable to connect to server" and the "tick" has disappeared. I then replace the "tick" and restart my computer. Usually, I only have to do this once or twice before I get logged on. Other applications which offer this facility work every time. Why is my computer having this problem? Thanks :)

As I mentioned in your other post, I have no experience with the MacOS. I do know that on Windows OS a service (which is what Serviio runs as) can be configured as what they label as "delayed start". Some processes won't start until another process has been started, and so by delaying the start it is ensured the required process is loaded before loading the delayed one. You might check if there's some way to delay start the Serviio process in the MacOS. I'd be surprised if there isn't a way.
