Serviio no longer remembers the playback status

Serviio used to remember where you had interrupted a film and you could continue at that point. I use Samsung TVs and have Serviio up to date.
Have I overlooked any settings, does the function no longer exist or is it due to the Windows 11 operating system?

Resume is dependent on the profile selected for the player, and the player capabilities. It's possible your IP address changed on your TVs and the wrong profile was selected.
I still get resume when using my Shield using Kodi as the player, or Roku Media Player on those devices. But resume on Roku is dependent on the file type. Files that are in the TS/M2TS container (and don't require transcoding) will not resume (or even pause) on the Roku. But that's a Roku issue, not Serviio. All that said, I am not running Windows 11, so I won't/can't say if Microsoft messed something up there.

Thanks for the hints. No IP addresses have been changed and all Samsung TVs have received their correct profile. They are mp4 films with the Codex AVC.
I suspect that it is related to Windows 11 - the problem only occurred after upgrading to Windows 11 - unfortunately the current version of Serviio was imported at the same time.
I'll try an older version.

Is there an archive where you can download older versions?

ok, bug fixed. It's not Windows 11 related. The bug can be reproduced by updating from version 2.2 to 2.2.1 to 2.3.
With a direct update from 2.2 to 2.3, the error no longer occurs.

I have to correct myself - even version 2.3 no longer remembers the playback position of a film. The direct update from 2.2 to 2.3 also produced the error described in the test.
I'm back to version 2.2 now.

I just tried my Samsung TU7000, using the NU Series profile. I started playing a movie in the MKV container, fast forwarded it so I was a couple of minutes into the movie, then stopped playback. I then started the same movie, and it resumed playback where I stopped it. I then went to another movie, played it for a bit, then stopped and restarted it, again resuming where I left off. I then went back to the first title I played, and it too resumed where I left off. Finally, I played something that requires transcoding (because the audio is unsupported by the TV), played it for a bit, then stopped and restarted from the place I left off.
Everything worked as expected. This is Serviio 2.3 on a Windows 10 computer. I have no explanation for the issues you're having. I simply doesn't have the same issue.

It's not the TV's because all TV's have this problem.
Maybe I should uninstall Serviio completely - so far I've only updated the existing versions and reinstalled the program.
Of course it can also be related to Windows 11 - version 2.2 sometimes "hangs" when fast forwarding and then I have
to restart the computer completely with Windows 11. Switching off and restarting the Serviio server is not enough.
I'll try a clean install in the next few days.

They only difference between your setup and mine is Windows 11. Certainly does seem to point to that being a possible issue. I don't have a Win 11 PC to test on, so I can't help there.

I know this is a older thread, but I'd like to chime in and say, I have the same problem. I just recently had to upgrade my home server and installed Windows 11. I can agree that it's a Samsung problem when it came to the "Last Viewed" folder (kind of). I could never get that to work on my older Samsung TVs but the newer one works just fine.
After upgrading my server, I chose to install the newest version of Serviio, 2.4. Funny, the "Last Viewed" now works on all the TVs that it didn't work on previously but, now the remember the playback status does NOT.
I tried 2.3 and 2.2.1 and they would not remember the playback status either on any of the TVs that had worked previously.
I checked my old server and that was running version 2.2. I have now installed version 2.2 on my new server, with Windows 11, and that seems to work, but we are back to "Last Viewed" folder crashing the Serviio instance.
I'd rather have the playback status working over the last viewed. So, I'm going to continue version 2.2 until another update.
Despite, minor issues, I just have to say I am very satisfied with Serviio.

I have upgraded my server to Windows 11, and I had zero issue with Serviio (version 2.4) or any other software I run on it. Titles that I had started playback before the upgrade (mostly using Kodi on an Nvidia Shield) all correctly offered to resume playback where I left off.
