Remote access

Hi,

I've opened up port forwarding for port 23424 on my Sky ER110 router to point to the NAS which is running Serviio but remote access isn't working - i've tried using a browser and also ServiioGo but both just time out.

I have a QNAP TS-251, i do have some VPN profiles setup and in for use with NordVPN, would that be interfering with it in some way?

Yes, it's possible your VPN is interfering. I have no experience with VPN use like that, so can't offer any suggestions on settings.

You do have the Pro version of Serviio, right? Remote access is only available with Pro (other than the free 15 day trial when Serviio is first installed). And how do you determine your home URL? Are you using a DDNS service, or do you have a static public IP address with your ISP? Remember you need the full URL path that includes the port when you're connecting remotely. The URL would be http://home_URL:23424/mediabrowser
