Changes to mp3 ID3 tags not being reflected

I've got a number of MP3s that are listed in the Serviio library but have incorrect metadata (e.g. wrong Album Artist, track name etc). Despite changing the entries in the ID3 tags, I cannot convince Serviio to display the new values.

Things I've tried:
- Restarting
- Upgrading to latest version (Linux 2.4)
- Stripping tags and re-writing them (ID 2.3)
- Playing the effected files
- Force "touch" the files
- Force a library refresh
- Checking debug logs for errors

My library is on a NAS drive and mounted through SMB, so I'm using polling mechanism, and as above have tried the refresh button in the console.

On startup with debug logs I see events for impacted files including:
[MediaFileIndexer] Found file
[MediaItemDAOImpl] Checking if DB already contains media item
[MediaItemDAOImpl] Looking up a media item for file path

With no errors relating to those files.

The only thing I haven't done is delete the library and recreate it, but that seems like a bit of a PITA if I have to do that every time I make a tweak to metadata.

I can force the issue by deleting the files, forcing a refresh, and then restoring them. Again, overkill. In that situation I get entries for:
[AudioExtractionStrategy] Extracting metadata of audio file
[MetadataExtractionCoordinator] Metadata found via extractor EMBEDDED: AudioMetadata

Since I don't use Serviio for music, I have no experience with ID3 tags. But have you tried the Refresh metadata button on the Metadata tab of the Serviio console? I realize it's labeled Video, but perhaps it will work for music files as well. Just a stab in the dark. :D

I did try that, yes :) Though thanks for the suggestion.

I'd try moving one folder/album out of your serviio library. Force a manual index. Check the album has disappeared from your library in mediabrowser/your favourite DLNA client. Move the folder back again. Then index media again.

See if that helps :D
