Clashing with Nord VPN

Been running Serviio quite happily for years, alongside Nord VPN on a server. Something has changed this week and now Serviio is no longer visable on devices such as my xbox, iphone or Fire stick (all through VLC and other apps). Reinstalled Serviio to see if that was the issue, no change. Removed Nord VPN completely and Serviio is now visible again. Anybody else experienced this and any thoughts on how to fix?
"Server" is a Windows 10 PC, running 23H2 and MDE.
Thanks!

Since Serviio hasn't had any updates, it's not responsible for the changes. VPNs have always been an issue when running any sort of server software on a computer. Most likely a Nord update changed the port permissions for Serviio access, although it could always be an OS update that caused it. Microsoft is famous for updates changing the firewall settings, but since removing Nord resolved it that is likely the issue.
Serviio requires several ports to be open on your home network and not blocked by a VPN or firewall. Port 1900 is often the one that gets closed, and it's required for uPNP/DLNA access. And of course you need port 23423 open for the console and 23424 for MediaBrowser (if you have a Pro license).

Hi Cledus, having the same issue since around 3th of march.
Have been trying a lot and also posted this issue here, although I wasn't quite sure the vpn was the source of the trouble....
What seems to work (at leats for the last few days) is using split tunneling in the settings of nordvpn.
I've disabled the vpn there for serviio which seems to work...
Please let us know if this helps!

Same issue with me.
I contacted Nord VPN customer support but no reply yet
Split tunneling didn't work for me.
It's really annoying toggling the VPN on and off

Hi,
Nope - nothing seems to work and even toggling the VPN off has stopped working. I wonder if its time to flatten the box and rebuild it.

Hi cledus,
I've selected the service and and console "app" for split tunneling (see attached image) don't know if you've selected both as well?
For the last week I haven't had any issue's with serviio not showing up.
In case you do get a response from NordVPN please share what they suggest.

Just in case anyone else has issues with this -
I seemingly had the same issues ... although Nord wasn't running, even uninstalled it didn't fix it, i've been going around in circles
BUT - in the Console checking 'Status' and the 'Network Settings' - somehow it'd deleted the previously selected one (no idea if that's to do with the VPN or not, or just coincidence) but mine had nothing selected and as soon as i selected the correct one (with the right IP), i was back up and running immediately
Just adding in case it is connected
