Unable to start server on Mac

Hi
I'm unable to start the server on Snow Leopard, all I get is a window with this message:

"Cannot launch Java application

Uncaught exception in main method:
java.lang.AbstractMethodError:
org.apache.xerces.dom.DeferredAttrNSImpl.getTextContent()Ljava/lang/String;"

And a button to quit.

I've tried versions 0.6.0.1 and 0.6.1 with same results.
I can't find any logs, what can I do?
Thanks in advance,

Krater

Hi
This is the version I have:

java - version
java version "1.6.0_29"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_29-b11-402-10M3527)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 20.4-b02-402, mixed mode)

I think Java on Mac auto-updates with the system, am I correct?

I have seen this only 2 times in 2 years but still have no idea what that could be... it's a mising library or a wrong version of a library in Java, but how to fix it ?

Solved!
Just removed an old xerces.jar located in the user.home/Library/Java/Extensions/ folder as stated in:
https://code.google.com/p/alkwarel/issues/detail?id=10

Remove

slf4j-api-1.5.8.jar
slf4j-log4j12-1.5.8.jar

from that folder (or make backup of those)

Well, I don't know it this is the same thing...
I had Serviio 1.2.1 working perfectly on my mac (Leopard).
But now I upgraded my OsX to Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and I can't open Serviio anymore !!!
I double click and nothing happens... :( :(
If I check home user/Library, I don't see any Java folder...
If I check Serviio "Show Package Contents", there is a Resources / Java Folder with a lot of jar files.

Any suggestion ??

Here it is :

Thanks !
well, actually I just realized that Serviio is running on my TV, though the Serviio icon doesn't appear in the task bar.... that's why I thought it didn't start.
I don't know why it doesn't appear in the task bar like it used to be ...
And how can I quit the app now ? it doesn't even appear in the 'force to quit' window. By turning down the Mac ?

And if I can see all the playlists and contents on TV, I can't play any file. I have those little squares on the top right corner...

So, when I launch Serviio, the icon jumps in the dock then disappear... Is it normal ?
The application seems to run as I can see menus and lists on my TV and the Serviio Console says the server is running.

No way to turn off the app since I can't see it in the dock, nor in the 'Force to Quit' menu....

It seems to have started happening with latest Java update. You can still stop the server via the task menu icon right-click menu.
