[SOLVED] Windows Media Center or Player does not list media

Hi,

Using serviio-0.6.1 hosted on Fedora-16 64-bit, though Windows-7 Windows Media Center (as well as Windows Media Player) recognizes the UPnP server, it does not show any media files at all. XBMC on the same machine works great, as do a couple Samsung Blue-Ray players I tried on the same subnet, indicating that serviio-0.6.1 setup in general and the network access/firewall setup is fine. I tried on both Windows-7 64-bit and 32-bit on two separate machines.

Thanks in advance for any help!

AFAIK Windows media player / center won't work. Nothing wrong with your setup, they just aren't supported because they don't comply with the required standards.

OK, Will, Thanks. Not a big problem for me, since XBMC works just fine.

What required standards do they not meet? According to wikipedia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Living_Network_Alliance Both WMP11 & 12 should be DLNA certified or is uPnP != DLNA where this counts?

they require certain identifiers for cetain folders. That hs been worked around in the xbox profile. But they also use search a lot, which Serviio doesn't support.
