serviio can't see my tv. gone through every possibility

*sorry for the x-post, but this will get more visibility here than the samsung forum*

i've tried just about everything mentioned in these forums. tried both wireless and wired connections, tried dynamically assigned and statically assigned ip addresses, turned off firewalls/antivirus (including the firewall on my router), you name it. i verified that upnp is turned on on the router. i even tried turning on "printer and file sharing for microsoft networks". i'm currently running winxp sp3, and my router is a linksys wrt54gl. i'm able to ping my tv's ip address each time. oh, i also tried the bound ip address for the server machine to no avail.

more recently:
-i updated the firmware on my linksys wrt54gl to tomato 1.28, nothing changed.
-i connected both my tv and my laptop running serviio to another unprotected router and updated serviio's ip settings accordingly. this didn't do anything, but i did notice that someone ELSE'S dlna share appeared on my tv. this leads me to believe the issue isn't with the tv, thank gosh.

now the issue is either with my laptop running serviio, or with my router. which is the more likely scenario? as mentioned, i've tried just about everything mentioned in the forums and sticky's. i don't have access to another computer to try out serviio on that machine unfortunately, and i don't want to spend money on a new router if that's not absolutely 100% the issue.

anyone have any insight?? are there known issues with either linksys wrt54gl routers or with lenovo x60 laptops (intel core 2 duo 1.6 GHz, 2 GB ram) with winxp sp3 and fully up to date with security patches?

attaching the serviio log file. i should mention i've never seen a green dot next to the device, and i had to add ip's manually.

to update, i installed an app on my iphone called zappotv which effectively let me do dlna actions from my phone, through my router, onto my tv. this leads me to believe the tv and router are sound.

i can't figure out why my computer isn't seeing the tv. i seem to be the only one having this problem, and it's happening across server apps (windows media player 11, allshare, serviio). at least now i'm 99% sure the issue is with my computer. again, i can ping my tv's ip address and firewall/antivirus are turned off.

is older hardware simply not supported? my laptop is about 5 years old now, but i've never had any networking problems until now. i have an Atheros 11a/b/g Wireless LAN Mini PCI Express Adapter, fwiw.

could be some spyware protection, fiewall, anitvirus etc. Also check you bind to the PC IP address in the console

thanks for the reply. i've turned off all spyware/firewall/antivirus software on my machine (i only have comodo firewall and microsoft security essentials running, and both are closed/disabled when i try to get serviio to work). and i have bound my pc's ip.

not sure how much use this will be but i've attached an up to date log file in debug mode.

is there anywhere left to go if we can't figure this out? any last things to try before i give up and do everything the old fashioned way with my brand new smart tv? sigh.

the server advertises itself but there are no incoming connections from your TV's to it. That means something is still blocking either port UDP 1800 or TCP 8895 on your PC. check your router settings too.

that's so odd, because i've tried shutting off everything: router firewall, comodo firewall, ms security essentials....should i create specific rules in each of these apps? i don't know how rules can even be enforced when the apps aren't open?

or better yet, does this potentially have something to do with java's security? i had to install java to install serviio (i didn't have it prior to downloading serviio) and i granted access to several ports. maybe it inadvertently blocked those?

i ran netstat (per this thread: viewtopic.php?f=10&t=2366&p=13933&hilit=1900#p13933) and determined that the universal plug and play device host and sspd discovery services are using UDP port 1900, but should this interfere with serviio?

just want to make sure i rule out all possibilities before i throw this computer out the window :)

attaching a screenshot of my connections with comodo:

something that struck me was the "udp out" line. it says it's using port 1900, but only under the destination column. is this correct? i also don't really recognize that destination ip address. another thing i noticed is that this entry goes away periodically. is that normal?

and are there supposed to be two instances of "servioservice.exe" in my task manager?
