how cap bitrate?

I have a Samsung tv model ue32es5500p, it supports natively mkv and avi.
I stream media from a macbook pro with Mac Os Lion wired with gigabit, the tv is wireless I think "n" but not sure. With avi no proble but with mkv hd the video stutter.
The bandwith from he mac is around 1.5 MegaByte/s.
My question is: there is a way to make a profile for cap the bitrate around 10000 megabits/s without transcoding?
