Hello
I tried to stream mkv files with x264/ac3 and x264/dts to my transformer android pad, unfortunately audio stays mute, video playes fine.
Should not serviio take care of that with transcode?
Is there anything i am missing, how can i tell serviio to transcode the audio stream to something my android tablet can decode properly?
any advice would be appreciated
hanzi

I don't even see the Serviio server with UPnP on my Android tablet - another UPnP device does show - so the UPnP process seems to be working.
The android doesn't show in the Servio list of devices.
Any help gratefully accepted ...

Which UPnP app are you using? Is ServiiDroid able to find Serviio automatically?

I have tried servvidroid - it doesn't discover the server. If I add the ip address, it reports connecting but then fails.
I used the default port in serviidroid.
Where can I find the actual serviio port being used?
XBMC on the same PC as the server sees it without problems.

That sugests that serviio is being blocked by a firewall then. Serviio uses a few ports, 23423 is for the REST API (Serviio Console, ServiiDroid), it also uses TCP port 8895 and UDP 1900 for transfering data and discovery.
Can you post a log please, as well as IP address information. Which OS, any firewall installed? Is any other device able to find Serviio? Do you have more than one network card?
One other test would be go to
http://localhost:23423/rest/application and you should see some version info. If you then type in
http://sever_ip_address:23423/rest/application and it doesn't work, then it is a firewall problem.

The server is on 192.168.1.130
Android is .14
OS is Win7 - only windows firewall + avast antivirus
Web address you gave fails to connect from Android
Log file is too big to attach

Reinstall fixed it! Serviidroid now sees the server!
So, should I now install something like upnpplay?

Not being able to seek in the stream is normal?

Depends on the file type, which profile is being used, and which video player.

Are you using the Android Profile I posted?
viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6558If not I'd appreciate your test and feedback for the device you are using.
You posted "Android is .14" but I have no idea what that means.

I am not sure who you mean now, since there is some thread hijacking going on

I am using the Android profile from the posted thread for my transformer device which works very well with the exception that i can not seek/ff/rewind in the stream
