handling 2D and 3D film versions

Firstly thanks for a great piece of software :-)

Just wondering the best way to manage 2D/3D versions of the same film, so the user knows which version is which ?
I have the following files in the matching directories, however only the online metadata for the 2D version is found.
Toy Story 3 3D (2010).mp4
Toy Story 3 (2010).mp4

Because the metdata for the 3D version is not found the file does not show up in the 'Movies' catergory. Any way around this issue?

Any help greatly appreciated.

you could put them in different folders, like:

/movies/toy story 3.avi
/movies/3d/toy story 3.avi

While that does indeed get metadata for both files, i now have two entries for Toy Story 3.
For presentation i have 'Movies' set to 'Display Contecnt Only'

How is the user to know which file is the 3D version of example?

You can't, unless you go there via the Folders category. It's the same movie, thus the same set of metadata.

Thanks,

As you point out the issue really relates to the online metadata being the same for both the 2D/3D versions of a film.

So is there any way to get serviio to use the online metadata but give the user the option to override locally ?
For example just the Title.

not a the moment, unless you want to do it ll locally using XBMC .nfo metadata files (but you will not be able to use the online metadata functionality)

Ah OK, that looks like a possible option.
