Try to upgrade Java.

It also mentions Apache Derby in the log, try to downgrade by replacing derby.jar in serviio's lib folder with one from here: http://db.apache.org/derby/releases/rel ... .8.2.2.cgi

I have been having 'issues' with 12.04 and Serviio on my Acer laptop ... need some help..I was able to get this to run in 10.04...the Logitech media server runs just fine on this same platform..

Is there a guide somewhere that can walk me through the correct way to make this happen ?? Obviously Java is critical to Serviio..I did the update to Java, but not sure it is really done properly .. meanwhile, the XP netbook is running Serviio just fine..

It looks like it just stopped and attempted to start again. I don't know what your problem is, mate. Might be Java, might be FFmpeg, memory .... I have it running for 3 years without a single crash, so I woudln't say it's unstable ;-)

You may consider installing the Oracle version of Java and follow https://sites.google.com/site/easylinuxtipsproject/java. I have not had any issues and I've been running Serviio on Ubuntu 12.04, Debian 6.0 and Linux Mint 12 and 13. I always go with Oracle/Sun Java for compatibility sake :D

EDIT:
I found a link I use, http://www.webupd8.org/2012/01/install- ... u-via.html which walks you through adding the repository for an oracle java install. Make sure you remove all of the openjdk packages first. I think by default that is openjdk-6-jre-headless.
