WHS 2011

Hello,
I recently had to rebuild my WHS 2011 box as it stopped updating from Microsoft. In restoring I went to the serviio download site and saw the new software version. It loaded, and it did not appear on the dashboard. No problem, opened from start menu. I did note the following problems:

The links to libraries kept going blank.
Continual freezing after selecting library tab.
Could not play on Samsung smart TV, even though it was discovered and assigned proper series. TV recognized DLNA, opened, then loaded interface and crashed.
Web interface would not locate files in folders.

I searched and located the WHS 2011 loader on an older web page and installed the previous version of serviio, and all is good. I have not added the new version over the existing installation yet. Can you please include the loader on your main download page? It seems to be essential to a successful WHS 2011 installation.

Loaded the 1.0.1 over the last update prior to 1.0. (0.6.?) Works very well, and linked to dashboard settings. Still cannot see library links at all times, so I use dashboard.

Web interface works like a charm, except if you are outside your network you need to use "http://router_ip_:23424/mediabrowser", not PC ip, and port forward to PC inner network ip. Cannot believe how much better the streaming is over the WHS 2011 plugin. Would like to see a que feature instead of playing one song at a time. Haven't tried a playlist yet.

If you are using the WHS console addin, it works with 0.6.2, not 1.x yet.

Install sevio 1.0.1 on a WHS v1

Dear Sir,

I am totally new to servio and have failed to find information on how to install servio (latest version 1.0.1) on my WHS v1.
I find lot of information on how to do for version 0.6.1 but not later versions. I have not installed servio before on the WHS.

What is the recommended way to install servio 1.0.1 and later on a WHS v1?
Please give simple instructions.

Is this WHS Add-In functionality needed and will it be supported in the future?

Best Regards

You can still install 1.0.1 on WHS v1 (my setup as well) via the Remote Desktop functionality, as you would on any other Windows PC. The Add-In is there to enable you to manage it via the WHS Console, rather that Remote Desktop, but it's a 3rd party software and I'm not sure when/if it'll be upgraded to support 1.0.x
