Hi,
I am using Serviio for a while since it is the unique way to see my shared files in my smartTV.
Unfortunly I am experience the problem of Serviio service taking a lot of CPU even when no one is
watching a shared file for hours.
I've been follow a lot (REALLY A LOT) of postings complains about this issue and don't see any solution.
I have remove all my online resources, i restart the service frequently , I have reduced the quantity
of shared files. none of this actions solved the problem and i am wondering how can it be that such common problem
is not listed in Serviio's FAQ and no one has given any solution neither any explanation for it.

This might be caused by a dodgy plugin, try to remove them all and see if you still have the problem.

hi,
thanks for answer.
I removed all the plugins and restarted console and service.
After Serviio finished to read all the share files (don't see log entries from this point) I waited an hour
to see how much CPU the service takes.
with the plugins the service was taking between 50%-100% and now the service is taking between 45%-50%
(sometimes it jumps for a second to 70%-85%)
Still 50% CPU is too much for some process to take when there is no need.
So for me the problem still exist.

What is your CPU? Can you enable detailed log to see if it's doing something during the CPU spikes?

thanks again for answering,
I see that after few hours the service cpu consumption drops to almost 0% so it seams that you were right regarding the plugins.
Is there a fast way to check which plugin was causing the problem without trying one at the time ?

Not easy.
Check on detailed logging.
