Library on Synology NAS USB device

I'm running the latest serviio on my synology ds411+. Love how it works.

I have no problem playing videos with the library stored on the internal synology drives, but when I try to store video files on an external usb drive, it doesn't seem to find the files. The folder is shown, but it is empty.

Hopefully I gave enough information. Can anyone tell me if this should work or not?

Thanks,
James

Done that already. If you are referring to "My files (on remote drive) are not scanned" I don't believe that applies. I'm running the Synology Serviio package, not the Windows Serviio package. I heard back from Patters on a blog and he is going to check it out when he has time.

Thanks,
James

hey all,
did anybody find a solution for this problem? I searched in the forum, but couldn't find anything.

I have also written a message to "zip", but i guess he don't want to help at this problem ... @zip: please show me the correlating topic in the faq.

Best regards,
trabantero

The above FAQ entry applies, the USB is a 'remote' drive t the NAS. You have to setup access rights correctly.
