:?: Device Profiles and a Digital Media Controller (DMC)

Hello,

last week I have been fiddling around with BubbleUPNP on my Android phone. I used it as a kind of 'remote control' for playing music on my renderer (an Onkyo TX-NR609) from my serviio (1.0.1) DLNA server.

I encountered the following problem: When I doing this, the profile of the Digital Media Controller (DMC) (i.e. the BubbleUPNP) is used even if the Digital Media Renderer (DMR) is the Onkyo (i.e. a device with a different profile).

I wonder if with is due to restriction in the DLNA/UPNP specification of a thing that could be attacked by enhancing serviio...

Cheers,

aanno

I don't think serviio can do anything about it due to lack of info in the request.

You have to assign the profile of the device that you wish to control to your phone, which you can do using ServiiDroid.
