When I open Serviio I get a pop-up informing me that there is a newer version available (1.0.1), but after downloading it and trying to open it, I get a message saying the file is damaged. I have tried several times but with no luck.
I cannot believe that Serviio are offering a damaged file for download.
Can anyone help please.
I am using an iMac loaded with Mountain Lion.

Thank you for your response, however since receiving your advice I have once again downloaded Serviio 1.0.1, expanded it and when I select Control-click the same pop-up appears on the screen which states: -
"Serviio" is damaged and can't be opened. You should move it to trash.
I downloaded today 26th Oct. 10.19 BST using Google Chrome.
It doesn't seem to be that "Gatekeeper" is identifying it as a foreign program, it suggests that the file is damaged or being corrupted during download.
Is anyone else experiencing this?

Try turning gatekeeper off (see the link to apple support), run Serviio and then ServiioConsole, then turn gatekeeper on again. That fixed it for other users that had a problem with it saying that the file is damaged.
