Streaming to DNLA rendering devices

I have a device (a wifi-enabled speaker) which connects using DNLA but does not have any sort of interface for selecting music.
Is there any way serviio can be used to stream music *to* a DNLA-enabled device? What I mean by that is that you would be able to select the device to stream to from the server side, rather than the client side renderer.

The device is a Sony SA-NS400, which you would normally target with something like the Bravia, but this is a more generic issue with media servers when serving to just a renderer, as opposed to some sort of device that can pull from the server, like a xbox, or TV.

Thanks

Re: Streaming to DNLA rendering devices

Windows 7 (Windows 8 too) has it's own DMC and it's the "Play To" function of Windows Mediaplayer 12.
The “Play To” feature from Windows Media Player (and the Windows Explorer in Windows 8) launches a DMC to control the media playback experience. [Never tested with Serviio]

This is a Digital Media Controller (DMC), these devices find content on digital media servers (DMS) and play it on digital media renderers (DMR).

Re: Streaming to DNLA rendering devices

Thanks for the recommendations.
I'm actually Mac based, though a few of the suggestions are relevant, too.

In fact, I took a look at kinsky and it works okay. The biggest bug seems to be that it oftentimes doesn't advance to the next track in a queue. I'm trying to debug that now... It's also pretty sparse in terms of features, which in some cases is a good thing.

Another piece of software I discovered is SongBook, by Bookshelf Apps. It's amazingly comprehensive in it's capabilities. Thing is, it's $40 once the trial runs out.

Hopefully I can get kinsky to work, or maybe I'll find one of the others you suggested to be useful.
