I've been trying to comprehend how audio playlists are handled in Serviio for hours and have yet to find even the beginning step in the process. Simple step by step help would be greatly appreciated. Running Serviio 1.0.1 on Windows 7 Ultimate

Thanks

Just create an m3u or pls playlist in an audio library.
enable audio playlists in presentation tab.
refresh the library.
open audio on your device and click playlists
your playlist button will appear.
click it to play.

I have a .m3u file in a directory D:\D2Music\_Playlists\TestPlaylist01.m3u that was created in MediaMonkey from a selected range of files so it should be valid. In Serviio console 1.0.1, I selected Library, Shared folders, Add local, add D:\D2Music\_PlayLists folder and checked all the boxes on the right across from the label "Folder" on the left. Hit save and refresh for good measure. Next I select Serviio on my Sony BDP-S570 DNLA Blu Ray player, then Folders, then _Playlists. I receive the error "There is no playable file".

When I follow the above procedure and point Serviio to the sound file folders the files themselves play perfectly as do all video files.

Could it be the Sony doesn't recognize the .m3u file? The sony manual is silent on the issue of playlist file support. It is also silent on support for Flac files yet it plays them with no complaint.

What am I looking at here?

Thanks

First I made the change to log4j.xml to initiate debug logging. Then I put another playlist file (PlayListTest4.m3u) into the folder containing playlists: D:\D2Music\_PlayLists. Then I hit the Force Refresh button in console. I have attached the most recent log file from the log folder. Just so I understand, the .m3u playlist file goes in a folder that I then "Add local" ? My Sony player sees the _Playlist folder but returns "No file found" error.

You didn't attach the log.

The playlist goes to either separate folder tht you Add local.. or into an existing folder in your shared library, eg next to the mp3 files.
