Java upgrade broke Serviio console

I've been using Serviio 1.0.1 on Windows 8 x86 for the last week or two and I'm loving it! Well done guys.

Windoze then decided that a java 7 upgrade was needed and now the Serviio console won't load. It says EXE4J_JAVA_HOME cannot be located.

I've removed all java and reinstalled serviio from the original distro which installs java 6 and all is ok again. But this wont last for long as windoze will want to update again some time soon.

Any idea what to look for when this happens next time?

thx

You should be able to disable automatic updates in Java preferences (Control Panel)

True, but I'd rather keep java patched and up to date, than pinned at a point in time.

Then it might occur that the console breaks.
