Serviio 1.1 not working

I installed Serviio 1.1 and now I get a notice that the Serviio service is not started causing Serviio console to be unable to start at which point it exits. I tried re-installing Serviio, JRE(many versions) and system restore. Nothing worked. I currently have JRE 6u38(32 and 64bit) and Serviio 1.1 installed. I cleared the Serviio log and rebooted as to log only what's going on at startup.

Can you see the service has started in the Services management?

The service is stopped. I was able to force the service to start through services last night at one point but upon starting Serviio Console the service would stop and Serviio Console would not open. Today I cannot start the service and get a 1067 error.

Did you edit .vmoptions file?

No.
ServiioConsole.exe.vmoptions has nothing in it
ServiioService.exe.vmoptions only has one entry -Xmx512m

Does it work if you start Serviio using serviio.bat ?

No, the service does not start. However, it does, but does not show anywhere and I can start Serviio Console after running Serviio.bat. I double and triple checked, the service is STOPPED, but I am able to start the Serviio Console and access it from my TV and configure it from my PC. This makes no sense at all...

I've installed 1.1 twice both times it doesn't show up on any of my DLNA devices even though it says it's running went back to 1.0.1 both times and it's working good again Windows 7 32 DLNA Xbox360, PS3, Samsung Blu-ray Player.

Serviio.bat is just another way to start the server, other than the service. So when the bat runs, it behaves the same way as if the service would be running.

Right... so how do I get Serviio to work like it used to? Where I turn my comp on and it starts with Windows. I tried going back to 1.0.1 it was still fucked up.

Is there something useful in the Windows event logs related to the crashed service?

At startup the only events pertaining to Serviio are the sevice starting and then maybe nanoseconds later it crashes. The following is the details from the Windows event.

If you say 1.0.1 used to work and it doesn't nopw either, it seems the problem is with the environment, most likely Java. Not sure how to debug more other than to try a different java version (possibly not the latest).

I had a very similar problem. I am using Serviio server on a Synology NAS and running the console on my Windows 7 PC. Everything worked perfectly with console version 1.0.1, but it kept bugging me to upgrade to 1.1 so I did. Bad move - it simply refused to run. I can see the console start briefly in the task manager - then it disappears. No GUI ever materialises. With my setup, I have to edit the vmoptions to point at the server on my NAS like this:
- Code:
-Dserviio.remoteHost=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Eventually I just gave up. I uninstalled 1.1 and reinstalled 1.0.1 and the console is working fine again.
It would be handy if the 1.1 version gave some clue as to what the problem is, but I cannot find anything. Nothing in the windows events anyway - I confess I didn't look at the serviio log.
So I think I will stick with 1.0.1 for now.

I figured it out thanks to ESET not being able to update. Something or someone changed me TEMP and TMP environmental variables. Changed them back to %systemroot%\TEMP and all is well with 1.1 Wish I knew who or what changed that shit...

I'm having a similar issue on Mac OSX 10.8.2. Tried both Java for OS X 2013-001 and Oracle Java 7. Rolling back to 1.0.1 for now. Here' my log, any ideas?

This looks like you have different version of the console and the server
