V1.2 - Video playback crashes very often

Hi All,

I am having Sony Internet TV NSX-GT1 and Serviio was working excellent until V1.1. I have used Generic DLNA profile and still using Generic DLNA profile. After upgrading to V1.2 and with subtitles enabled, video playback is not smooth and crashes often. I was not able to watch any movie for more than 5 minutes. I am still working through the log to find any specific error messages that gets logged when the video playback stops. One thing I noticed was the below error message:

  Code:
Error while retrieving renderer description: Cannot retrieve device description from http://198.18.184.191:55911/dev/bfe568ed-0bd7-6c27-ffff-ffffdb45ea52/desc.xml

I am not sure what is this IP address 198.18.184.191.

I searched the forums to find any specific profile for Sony internet TV to be used. I found one in this discussion http://forum.serviio.org/viewtopic.php?f=11&t=4164 but it didn't resolve the issue :| .

Good thing is that I can see subtitles burned in the video when it does play.

On the other side, when I disable subtitles the video just plays fine.

Thanks.

Regards,
Ram.

I posted something similar on the 'sony' threads - when I put 1.2 on yesterday, I could no longer see any of my MP4 files (episodes) - I could still see the folder placeholders as if it found the mp4s? - and I had been able to earlier that day on v1.1
so today I uninstalled v1.2, re-installed 1.1 and voila - my MP4 files all play again!

theres def. something wrong with v1.2
(please dont take this as unapreciation!)

If you are trying to play HD movies with burned-in subtitles, it's possible your CPU is not strong enough to do it in real time.

Could be... I will watch the CPU usage when I play video next time... Any idea on what would be the source of IP address 198.18.184.191
