Serviio

OK fellow Serviio users it's got to the point where I am totally feed up with my Samsung UE40ES6300 TV not playing online media properly with Serviio or every other server I have tried. I normally either get the disconnect problem after a short period of time or I get the "The selected file is currently not supported" message. On rare occasions it will play online comtent ok.

As I am not prepared to upgrade a 4 month old TV I thought I would upgrade my aging LG Blu-Ray player. Can anyone please recommend a Blu-Ray player (regardless of make) which they are either using now or have used in the past which works ok when streaming online content with Serviio? All recommendations would be welcome.

either samsung or sony's seem to have the best format support.

for your disconnecting issue, are you on wireless perhaps?

No I have a wired connection. I have tried wireless because my TV is on the other side of the room to my router so the lead is quite long and I thought that may be the issue, but running wireless made no difference it still disconnects when streaming most online content. When streaming files from my pc it never disconnects. It seems as this is a problem some Samsung devices suffer from, there are quite a few people who have this problem on the Samsung board of this forum. I thought maybe my best solution would be to upgrade my cheap non DNLA LG Blu-Ray player for a better DNLA Blu-Ray player and use that for streaming online content and use my Samsung TV for streaming everything else. I am a bit reluctant to buy a Samsung Blu-Ray for fear of the same problem. I was hoping someone who uses a Blu-Ray player with Serviio and has no problems with it disconnecting with online streaming would recommend it.
