Missing library drive - Bug or feature request

Good afternoon,

I have Serviio configured with the library on an external Hard Drive. Sometimes, this drives gets disconnected from the computer or is left off when not in use. If Serviio is running, instead of detecting that the unit is no longer present and 'saving' the library info until the unit is back on, the program wipes out clean the library and starts all over again when the HD is reconnected!!!

Is there a way to ask:
- is the drive unit present - YES? Good, update the library - NO? Well, do not wipe out the entire library or, at the very least, ask the user: "drive letter not valid, erase library registers for files on that drive?"

Because its annoying to wait for a full rebuild every time.

Thanks,
Rafa.

After serviio has added all the files on the drive, deselect auto update the drive in the console.

Why would I do that? I often add new files and I want the auto-update feature! What I want it is to detect that, if the drive (or drive letter) is not present (or perhaps the folder I added to the shared folders?), to stop the auto-update until it finds it again.

Rafa.

There is no concept of drive in Java, just a file path, eg \\myserver\mymusic, d:\someothermusic, /home/user/music, etc.

The file path either exists or not - if it doesn't Serviio considers the file as being removed. Don't forget this is not Windows-only app.

Just had an issue the other day... and this is, so far, the closest I've found to what I experienced. My array suddenly dropped out for some reason, and Serviio started cleaning itself up. By the time I caught it, and got the array back online, Serviio put some items back in, but stopped at O in my Movies folder. Permissions are ok, everything is there, I also run Plex, and Plex still has everything, and my XBMC setups see the shares and files... but Serviio just doesn't want to play ball in putting these items back in. New items are going in just fine and updating.

Aha! Ok thanks. I'll have to get that upgrade going. I have so few issues with Serviio, I never come looking for updates! Thank you.
