Hello,

i have got the following problem. My Sharp TV (LE-730e) looses connection to Serviio Server after playing movies for 15 to 30 Minutes. I have already tried many solutions sugested in other posts such as turning off the firewall, different device profiles, different router setings (static IP, address lease time set to 48 hours), different conection settings, etc. The connection drops sooner or later with every type of files (mkv, mp4, avi,...). The PC and the TV are both wired to the router (not WiFi). I have posted the folloving log after playing a movie for cca. 18 minutes. Does somebody have a sugestions what could be the problem?

Thank you.

Does it happen with audio too? I see Serviio advertises itself every 3 minutes, the TV reacts. So not sure what is wrong. Sometimes it depends on the quality of the network or router.

The cables connecting the PC, router and the TV are all fine because I replaced them with new ones and it didnt help. The problem really seems to be the router (TP-Link WR642G). As mentioned I already changed the address lease time to the maximum value, disabled an again enabled the UPnP function, tried static IP addresses, turned the router firewall of, updated the router firmware, but with no effect. Could it be that my ethernet card settings are causing the connection to drop? Does someone have a suggestion what else to change?

Thank you

Hello again,

I changed the router yesterday but the connection still drops, even without a router between (via crossover cable) the connection is lost. So the conclusion is that the router is not the problem. Now I am experimenting with streaming mpg movies (converted from mkv and mp4 to mpg), will report later. Could someone please look at the previosly posted log file and tel me who drops the connection, the TV, PC or the router?

Thank you

  Code:
2013-03-13 12:46:05,001 DEBUG [WebServer] I/O error: Connection reset by peer: socket write error

This normally happen when the client (TV) closes connection. But it can be due to dodgy file or any other reason.

I have now played 2 mpg movies for more than 3 hrs and there were no connection issues. So it seems that my TV doesnt play mkv or mp4 files correctlly whn they are streamed from a media server. But I dont understand why this should lead to connection losses?
