Remote issue

Hi,

I searched for my issue but I couldn't find anything regarding it so I'm posting my question here -

I configured remote access using the instructions and it works like a charm
for ServiiGo. I can also activate mediabrowser on localhost.
However - Once I try using [myip]:[port]/mediabrowser it won't work.

I double checked - the port is open and accessible.
I also tried port forwarding using the guides. Nada.

What am I doing wrong?

Thank again for your great support.

are you using your public IP or IP of the PC on your network?

Thanks for the answer.
Public. ServiioGo can connect perfectly.
I should note that I have the "Automatically configure your router.." checked
and the connectivity status is green.

Hmm. Seems I managed to access the media browser from my cellphone's browser. I want to test it using my public ip from my pc but it's not working for some reason. Nevermind then, as long as it's accessible from other machines - it's perfect!

Continuing an old thread -

I do not have access to the media browser from where I work, same thing happens to my wife at her work's pc.
I sent the mediabrowser link to other people and they can access the sign in screen.

I assume the IT team somehow blocks port 23424 from being accessed.

Is there a way to bypass this?

using a proxy on a standard port that has access to other ports on the internet. (look for http proxies in google). Basically what this will do is send any request through a port that your firewall will allow over to the proxy, then connect to the proper port over the internet and come back to you through the proxy.

Thanks for your answer.
I'm not sure a proxy, especially using a free one, supports streaming and even if it does it won't be able to hold high bitrates..

Hello again, I did not find any possible solution for this problem and I'm not sure this is not a serviio issue. I've used a software similar to serviio called dsub, which has a remote system were
users can log-in to and I never had any problems with it.

What OS is your Serviio server installed on?

Can you not just map the port differently using your router? e.g. router:8000 -> server:23424
