I have quite a few video DVDs and the only DVD player I have is on my Ubuntu/Serviio media server.
Have look through the forums I have seen a few articles about playing the DVDs VOBs, I thought these were often encrypted ?
But is there any way to stream direct from what the DVD is playing somehow ?

Thanks
Jim

I used SmartRipper with "File-Splitting : every chapter" option
So it create vob files per chapters. (you can also create a single vob file)

I managed to stream a dvd (ISO mounted as dvd drive actually) through vlc to serviio as live stream.
Perfect video and audio quality with 6 channels but no dvd menu browsing.
Any change of chapter or audio channel resulted in a stream freeze on the TV. Need to stop and restart it on TV in that case.
Definitely better to convert it but, if you need to know the settings I used in vlc, please send me a PM
