Update: without touching anything, just had a message flashed up saying "Serviio is now running".
So 15 minutes or so after the install.....
Any ideas, please ?

seems like for some reason the console took a really long time to start.

Hi Petr,
No, I cannot reproduce that behaviour, even after several attempts. It just refuses to show the Console.
My home setup is Win 7 Ultimate 64bit and Firewall/Anti-virus is Vipre Internet Security suite.
Settings in firewall show that Serviio has full access.
Windows services show that Serviio DLNA server is loaded and running at startup.
Double clicking the Console icon brings up the UAC prompt which I accept.
Then nothing - except that one time.
For interest, I installed Serviio on my work machine this morning (Win 7 Pro 64bit)
It works fine !

maybe you should try disabling UAC to see if it makes a difference?

Ok, tried disabling UAC - no different.
Re-enabled it then checked if Serviio Media server was running - NOT.
Right-clicked Computer / Manage / Services and found that the Serviio DLNA Media Server was set to start automatically. But it hadn't.
From that window I chose to start it manually - and it wouldn't.
The message returned was " Error 1067: The process terminated unexpectadly"
So some inconsistency here. The only difference (of mine) is to have disabled then re-enabled UAC afaik.
If it may help, Serviio is installed in C:\Program Files (as opposed to C:\Program Files (x86)
Properties shows that the Serviio files were last accessed as follows:
ServiioService 18:52:32 on 21st March
ServiioConsole 18:52:36 same date
So it would seem the console 'loaded' within seconds of the Service starting, but some 15 minutes elapsed before Windows reported Console start.
