[SOLVED] Series Folder

Hi

I have the "series" folder enabled in serviio and normally only download .MKV files.

Sometimes the video files do not go in this folder even though they are either part of a series or the whole series.

What information is in the file to tell it to go in a certain folder?

Thanks

Your folder and file naming must follow a certain protocol to be listed as a TV series instead of being listed as a movie. First you need a folder with the series name. Check the TV Database http://thetvdb.com/ for the complete name to use. For example, I have Seaquest ripped to my server. The folder name is "Seaquest DSV". You then need a folder for each season, i.e. Season 1. In this folder you place all season files with the following naming convention: S1E3 (Season 1, episode 3). It is not required to have the TV series name in the file name, but it works fine if you do.

All of my series files follow this format and they all show correctly and play fine. Mine are also in NKV format, same as yours.

By the way, if your first season includes a pilot episode, I have found that it needs to be in a Season 0 folder.

actually, you don't need any folder, you can save them all in a root if you want, but the series name must be in the file name. http://www.serviio.org/index.php?option ... icle&id=12

Hi Zip. I assume you mean the series title must be in the file name only if they are not in named folders. None of my files have the series title in the file name but Serviio correctly identifies them and groups them by season.

Still can't get this to work.

Here's a case in question.

Once Upon a Time series 1 and 2
Series 1 shows up with no problem in the series folder.
I have renamed series 2 to be in the same format as series 1 but it still does not show up.

It does show up in the "Folders" folder

edit: Just got it sussed. Series 2 was missing the year. eg: Once Upon a Time (2011) S02E01
