Serviio folder not displaying all files ( movies )

Hello,

I have version 1.2.1 and streaming most files fine to a sony BDP-590 and bravia xbr .
The problem is that sometimes when adding new movies files , they do not show up on streaming directory on tv or blu-ray.

At the moment i see maybe 3/4 of the files even after I force a refresh and restarting the service , is it the format or is there something wrong with the file itself as I can play it fine with VLC .

I have various files mkv , avi and mp4 and the files that do not show can be of any of these formats

Thx !

Are you certain it is named correctly?

Can you navigate to the file (and play it) through the 'folder' route rather than the 'movie' menu option?

Have a look in the log too as this usually reports an error if something isn't working e.g. datebase look-up timing out.

Thanks for your quick response !

Yep i can play it from original folder and within the serviio media folder and the file name is the same so I haven't changed anything , all i do is a copy and paste.
Like I say I noticed this only with a few files.

I think this may be a problem ?!?

but it doesn't look to be related to the specific file , just an rss feed

No that error is not related (it's for the online feed as you stated). If a file appears in the "Folder" area but not under "Series" or "Movies" then it is generally because the file name does not match the schema required by Serviio - it does not contain the correct information to allow it to be matched to an online metatadata source. Serviio uses the file name to search themoviedb.org or thetvdb.com for metadata about our movie/TV series (proper movie name, cover art, description, actors, producers, etc).

See here for details of the file name schema. Rename your file to match the scheme and press Force Refresh in Serviio Console. Give it a minute or two and your movie should appear under the Movies section.

You can confirm it's due to the online database mismatch by checking your Last Added or Folders categories - the file should be there, but with a wrong title or unresolved title (ie using file name)

Pardon my ignorance :)
Thank you all for the tips...

How can I see what the actual file name is ? in order to rename it . i.e I have this movie which I just copied over and it won't appear.

Imax Legends Of Flight 3D.AC3 - alE13

enable the "folder" option in your content menu.. this will show all the direct filenames of everything that is shared.
