Samsung LE40C630K1W + small subtitles issue

Hello *,

Yesterday I switched to the Serviio from Samsung provided abomination called "PC share manager" and found it is an excellent replacement - both in stability and performance.

Everything works perfect except one little thing related to srt subtitles: I cannot disable or manipulate subtitles from TV OSD "Tools" menu. To be precise there is no "Subtitles options" menu entry at all after pressing the TOOLS button on my remote (during film playback).

I checked the same film / folder with PC share manger and the "Subtitles options" menu entry is visible.
Could someone confirm this with other Samsung TV sets? Any solutions?

BR

That is the case indeed. The menu is only available for the Samsung's software and I didn't figure out how to enable it for Serviio.

page down

if there is any other functions that pc share manager does and serviio does not let me know and will see if i can get the info on them too :)

Hi again,

I've made some investigation and found some differences that could be related to the lack of OSD subs menu issue. I compared exchange of c-plane messages in both cases - Samsung PC Share Mng and Serviio.

I've put 2 dumps where you can check the differences here:
http://cid-55502c0e084dba01.office.live ... ic/Serviio

And some quick analysis in Diff.txt file is also there.

@Cerberus
fast forward and rewind is working for me - you need to press those 1-arrow directional buttons (left, right). And about the page down / page up - if you mean moving between the resources listing pages than it is working too - just try 2-arrow buttons on your remote.

And Petr - thanks for this great software :-)

thanks for that. Could you create a ticket and add these as attachments to it? I also noticed the Sammy server has some custom values in it's description XML. I tried to play with those but at some point it just stopped working as the TV expected some specific container IDs when browsing. But that might be also the problem.

ffw and rwd. isnt great on samsung so im trying to work out if we can make it better as the current 24 second seek is next to useless.

page up and down no i mean when browsing large numbers of files say 700 movies going down 1 by 1 takes a very long time when a page down feature could be implemented so that this task is made alot easier. BUT sadly this feature is not even availible in the samsung software, so Zip would have to create it from scratch if thats even possible..

I'm not sure how and if I'm able to since I'm not involved in Serviio development in any way. Just wanted to help (I work as a software developer).

Hmm, that's what I'm talking about - when I have, say 100 movies in one folder than I can see also pages in the upper right corner - sth like "1/46". Than if I press those double arrow buttons on my remote I can move to the next page immediatelly (skipping 10 films):

The buttons I'm talking about looks like this (back | pause | forward):
