Re: LG 42LB6300 and LG 42LS33A - Not Working

Hello Grod,
I don't know what Media Server you're using, so all I can recommend is that you look at your manual or get in touch with the manufacturer.
According to the manual for the LG 42LS33a, Only a USB storage device is recognizable. If the USB storage device is connected through a USB hub, the device is not recognizable.
A USB storage device using an automatic recognition program may not be recognized.
A USB storage device which uses its own driver will not be recognized.
The recognition speed of a USB storage device may depend on each device.
Use only a USB storage device which was formatted as a FAT32 file system, NTFS file system by the Windows operating system. In the case of a storage device formatted
with a different utility program which is not supported by Windows, it may not be recognized.
Some USB storage devices may not be supported or operate smoothly.
File alignment method of USB storage devices is similar to Window XP and the monitor can recognize up to 100 English characters.
I'm am also not sure what you mean when you say that the movie file freezes after you update it! What are you updating? What are the movie files, what type?...IFV

Um, LGElectronics:

If he's posted on the Serviio forum, it's a pretty good bet he's using Serviio as his Media Server...

Re: LG 42LB6300 and LG 42LS33A - Not Working

Im using Seviio, and like a mentioned i'm using .mp4 or .wma files to play on my 3 display TV's (small shop) when i update the file in the shared folder with the same name convention it does not update on the TV's and they freeze up, then at that point i have to manually got to each TV and restart the video.

Im running Serviio on a VM, Intel Xeon X5450 @3.0GHz Quad, 4GB of RAM, Windows 7 32-Bit.

Thank you.

Re: LG 42LB6300 and LG 42LS33A - Not Working

For the 42LS33a, everything I could find after searching is that it is a commercial grade monitor, and does not have DLNA support. It looks like the only video support it has is via the USB jack. Can't find an online manual to confirm, but that seems to be the issue. It will never be able to connect to Serviio, or any other media server.

Not sure what you mean by "updating" the file. If you mean you are replacing the file while it's playing, then frozen playback is probably expected, since the original file is no longer there. If I'm misunderstanding, please provide additional information. :)

Re: LG 42LB6300 and LG 42LS33A - Not Working

So the idea is to use this in my store as a "Display Signage" I have created an .mp4 file and twice a week I update the content but i keep the same file name and overwrite it while it playing . Sometimes it works but most of the time it freeze and i have to restart the video. I hope this explains it a little better. I really appreciate all the help!

Thank you.
