Servio Version 2.x not working on WSE2016 ?

I am using Windows Server Essentials 2016 on a Dell Poweredge T40, with an HDD Pool managed by Drive Bender. The TV is a Sony Bravia KDL-50W685A; there are also some Windows 10 and 11 clients in the network. Originally I used Serviio 1.6, without issues.

I upgraded to Serviio 2.2 and then 2.3, and the solution stopped working. Only local DLNA players like VLC which I installed for testing on the server itself where detected by Serviio, and only this local installation was seeing Serviio's shared folders. I checked everything, re-installed several times. No chance. The Windows clients where able to use the Media Browser using its Http-address. But DLNA streaming to the network didn't work.

Finally I was able to get a old copy of Serviio V 1.10.1 and installed it. And it is working without issues! Serviio detects all clients, TV is detecting and displaying the shared folders.

Are there any hints what could make 2.x working, or indications why it does not work while 1.x is working?

Serviio isn't officially supported on Windows Server OS. Microsoft often releases updates that mess with DLNA/uPNP functionality. Sometimes you can dig into the firewall settings and make it work, but no guarantees.
