Serviio

Hello all. I just arrived to the serviio family. I bought a Sharp 60 inch tv with DLNA in September and after trying four different Upnp servers, this was the only one i could find that pauses files, which is great. I'm using the mac client.

I have only one issue which i'm not sure if anyone else is having or if it's something that is an easy fix on my console end. When I play a file, it doesn't seem to buffer well. every 20 or 30 secs, it freezes for only 3-4 secs but you can imagine how unenjoyable a viewing experience that makes. Though none of the other upnp servers pause, they did all play the files great so I know this isn't an issue with my DSL or tv.

Does anyone have any thoughts?

Hi C. Wireless. But note, that when I use EyeConnect and the other service (that I can't remember but can look out), everything is the same, and I don't have an issue. I was watching something today with EyeConnect and am not having an issue.

Hi Phil. I'll go over the feed for that tomorrow and see if it makes sense. I saw the code, but am not sure where to add the code to. I'll see if when reading the entire feed that it makes clear sense to me and if i have any questions, I'll let you know. Thanks Phil.

Hi Phil. I printed out the entire stream from the link you gave me and tomorrow when I get home, I'll look at my mac and see if creating the new profile is self explanatory. If i have any questions, I'll let you know. I did notice from the blog that this may solve why avis don't work. Though I've had no issue converting my avis to m4vs, it sure will be a time saver. I'll let you know what i discover.

Thank you for the profile. I updated the Profile.xml (replacing whatever was originally profile 14 with the code). I then made sure that my console had the profile as the choice. The quality is not better. it's still holding every 25 or 30 seconds for 2 or 3 seconds so nothing seems any different from the original profile.

Enclosed is the profile.xml to be sure i didn't do something incorrect, as well as a screenshot of my console.

nope thats what i was expecting sadly, so your issue is not down to serviio its down to your setup somewere as i know that profile works.

i would suggest switching to a wired network, or a higher quality router.

that's a shame. The odd thing is the other upnp servers do not have that issue. If it was a router issue, then the other applications would cause similar issues.

see the otehr sharp post in teh support section were we are working on a new sharp profiel maybe this will help your issue.

that will be great. Is that in the same thread as the link above? I assume it's one of the more recent posts in that thread?
