Rewinding and forwarding

Hello,

I am using Serviio with a Packard Bell laptop with an Intel i5 processor with wifi network connection, Thomson 787 router and a wired network connection to my Samsung LE40C650 tv. This is working great. Easy to install and runs smooth. The only "problem" I have is when I am watching a movie is that I am unable to rewind or forward thru the movie. Is this a shortcomming of Serviio or the TV. If it is the tv (what I expect), does anybody know if Samsung is going to fix this problem with a firmware update?

Regards, Marijn

please search the forums before posting.

The fast forward rewind function on samsung units is control by the < and > directional buttons and not the << and >> ffwd and rwd buttons on the remote, it also does not work like normal ffwd and rwd as you see on a video or dvd player as but pressing button once it will step forward a few second but if you hold the button it then steps more and more each time, not great system but that how samsungs work sadly.

With MKV file there is also another issue explained in the this linked post : viewtopic.php?f=10&t=3267

I am not sure if you can do it on your TV, but on my Samsung Bluray player, I can start the video and hit the tools button on the remote and I can select the time I want to go to in the video.
