The only UPNP server that works!
Posted: Wed Jan 25, 2012 8:50 pmHi guys! took me ages to find a decent UPNP app to work with the new samsung TV in the living room.
I had troubles with XBMC in built one, the TV said "non supported format" on any file I tried to play. Exactly the same thing with TV versity. I started to get really frustrated, as the formats I was trying to play was listed as being supported in the user manual.
I then tried out tvmobili which stated on the page that the app was completely free. It was hidden in the config page that you could stream 10GB a month, and then pay a monthly fee. The bloody cheek of it!
Oh and I tried out Samsung's allshare, extremely slow at adding media and for some reason my HD content had bad playback performance. For the official app of the TV, its totally rubbish.
Then I came across serviio. BEST UPNP server EVER. Fast at adding sources, great playback performance (I turned off transcoding as I don't need it). The ability to add online stuff is great too.
The onl;y problem so far is that it minimizes full screen apps on my HTPC when it refreshes content. I made a post in support about it.
